Introduction

Manya ("the App", "we", "our", or "us") is a personal finance manager developed by Yee Technologies. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is collected, used, and disclosed when you use our App.

By using Manya, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Information We Do NOT Collect

Manya is designed with a privacy-first, offline-first architecture. We do not operate any servers, databases, or cloud infrastructure. Consequently:

  • We do NOT collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personal identifiers
  • We do NOT collect your financial data, transactions, balances, or spending history
  • We do NOT collect your location, device ID, IP address, or any usage analytics
  • We do NOT track your behavior within the App
  • We do NOT serve advertisements or share data with ad networks
  • We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your information to third parties
  • We do NOT transmit any data over the internet unless you explicitly choose to send a support email

Information Stored Locally on Your Device

All data you enter into Manya is stored exclusively on your device's internal storage. This includes:

  • Transaction records (income, expenses, transfers)
  • Account balances and financial summaries
  • Budget categories and spending caps
  • Savings goals and progress
  • Bill and subscription schedules
  • Event plans, budget items, and contributions
  • App preferences (currency, theme, notification settings)
  • An encrypted PIN hash (if you enable PIN lock)

This data never leaves your device. You can delete all data at any time by uninstalling the App or clearing the App's data in your device settings.

SMS Import

If you choose to use the SMS import feature, Manya requests permission to read SMS messages on your device. This processing is done entirely on-device:

  • SMS messages are scanned locally to extract financial transactions
  • Extracted data is stored locally on your device
  • SMS content is never transmitted off your device
  • You can revoke SMS permission at any time in your device settings
  • The SMS import feature is optional and disabled by default

Camera and Photo Access

If you choose to use the receipt OCR feature:

  • Camera access is used solely to capture receipt images
  • Images are processed on-device using ML Kit (Google's on-device machine learning)
  • No images are uploaded, transmitted, or stored on any server
  • You can revoke camera permission at any time in your device settings

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

  • Encrypted database: Your financial data is stored in an AES-256 encrypted SQLCipher database
  • PIN lock: Optional 4-digit PIN with hashed storage using bcrypt-style algorithm
  • Biometric authentication: Optional fingerprint or face unlock support
  • No network transmission: By design, your data never travels over a network

Third-Party Services

Manya does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

The only third-party libraries used are for core functionality:

  • SQLCipher: Encrypted database storage (on-device)
  • ML Kit: On-device text recognition for OCR (no data sent to Google)
  • CameraX: Camera functionality (on-device only)
  • Room: Local database management
  • Hilt: Dependency injection (no data collection)
  • ** Jetpack Compose**: UI framework

None of these libraries transmit your data off your device.

Children's Privacy

Manya is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App and on this page. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Your Rights

Since we do not collect your data, the following are inherently guaranteed:

  • Right to access: All your data is already on your device
  • Right to deletion: Uninstall the App or clear app data
  • Right to portability: Your data is already in your control
  • Right to object: Opt out of SMS import and biometric features at any time
